That’s a wrap!

Sunday, August 5th, 2012

We had an amazing time this year and we want to thank EVERYONE who came out to support the show from our audiences to our sponsors, comics, volunteers and filmmakers. We’re about to go to sleep for the next three days, and we recommend you all do the same. But before we do, here are our official winners from last night! It’s worth noting that everyone did an amazing job and all of the comics and films were extremely well received. Congrats to everyone involved!

BEST COMEDIAN – George P. Gordon III

BEST FILM – by Darrell Hazelrig

BEST LOCAL COMEDIAN – Adam Cayton-Holland

BEST LOCAL FILM - Guns, Drugs and Synergy by Matt O’Connor

Stand-up spotlight: Matt Monroe

Thursday, July 26th, 2012

This year we’re bringing in tons of comics from all over the country. But we’re also inviting Colorado’s best comics to the show, because, well, we might run into them at Whole Foods and we don’t want them to get mad at us.

Meet MATT MONROE!

To those that know him, Matt Monroe is a bit of a risk taker (no iPhone case) and someone who has accomplished a great many things in his lifetime. (not vegan) But the people who Matt keeps closest to him (women) know that above all else, he is the finest lover one could ask for (will go downtown).
Matt runs a monthly comedy showcase at Lannies Clocktower Cabaret (16th & Arapahoe) the last Sunday of every month and can be found pandering for your approval on the following social media websites. (will go downtown)
Laugh Track: How long have you been a stand-up comic?

Matt: 1 year
What other comics will you be watching during the festival?
I plan on watching everyone, since I have no social life to speak of.  In particular though, I’m looking forward to sets from out of towners Jay Washington, Ron Babcock, Ed Galvez, and Alex Mesrobian.

If you could give yourself advice when you first started out, what would it be?
Write a lot of facebook jokes, like EVERYONE is on facebook so its totally relatable! (more…)

MIDNIGHT BOWLING PARTY!!!

Saturday, July 21st, 2012

Bowling parties are not new to Laugh Track, or our partner fest Festivus Film Festival. We have them every year. However, this is the first year we’ll be doing it after dark. After our at The Bug we’re moving the party a few blocks down to Elitch Lanes for late night bowling. Filmmakers and comedians bowl and drink for free. This event is an awesome way to meet the filmmakers and comedians and other attendees, and kick this festival off right!

This event is Thursday August 2nd at 10:30pm @ Elitch Lanes.

Sponsor Shoutout – Sony Creative Software

Saturday, July 21st, 2012

When they say you can do just about everything on your computer these days, that’s because companies like Sony Creative Software make it possible. They’re one of our favorite sponsors this year, and if you’ve ever used their software you’d understand why. Vegas Pro, ACID, and Sound Forge make it affordable to do pretty much what the professionals can do. They’re great programs for laptop producers and video editors. If you need some audio sweetened, or editing software with an easy interface, go with Sony Creative Software.

Tom: 2 years

What other comics will you be watching during the festival?

I’ve always been into Chicago comedy, so it’ll be cool to see Jay Washington. It’ll also be a great experience for me to see what everyone from the Denver scene has to offer. (more…)
