What’s funnier than romance antics? We present THE DATE

Synopsis: When Ben Roy sets up his roommate, Rob Gleeson on a blind date with his friend, Rob quickly discovers that true feelings sometimes make themselves known in unusual ways.

Director: Ben Simkins

Laugh Track: How much time and energy did you spend making the movie?

Ben: Two days of shooting and three days to coax Ben Roy out of the car and on to set once in full makeup.

Do you think it was worth all that time/energy?

This was my first directing a narrative short so the pure fact that it didn’t resemble a Cleveland steamer tangled up in former presidential hopeful, Pat Buchanan’s chest-hair… yeah, I’d call that a win.

Synopsis: A lonely man-child named Robert discovers the love of his life at his apartment dumpster and his concerned brother Alex isn’t thrilled to see who it is.

Laugh Track: How much time and energy did you spend making the movie?

Alex: I wrote it a two years ago with when my roommate discovered a pair of mannequin legs at our apartment. also, it was around my first year in denver when i was really lonely and the legs were the closest thing to a real person in the house. Around april, I rewrote it for Nathan Lund to play me. (more…)

Synopsis: When humankind sends a message into the farthest reaches of space it falls on a lowly alien courier to deliver the reply. Unfortunately the courier sent to make first contact with humanity pays less mind to the job in hand than he does to his nagging ex-wife and failed music career.

Sami: I don’t want to think of the number of hours I put in to it.  I just don’t.  A lot I’ll bet.  A very lot.

Synopsis: As a man and woman go through the time-honored tradition of the magazine quiz, the man does quite well until he is forced to answer honestly about the Zombie Apocalypse.  A relationship will be tested by its greatest, historic enemy:  The truth.

Laugh Track: How much time and energy did you spend making the movie?

Daryl: The filming took one day, and the post-production took a couple of weeks.
