Stand-up spotlight: Alex Mesrobian

Hey everybody, meet ALEX MESROBIAN!

Alex Mesrobian is a stand-up comic, writer, and performer who resides in his birthplace, Los Angeles, CA. He has performed at many venues and festivals including the Comedy Store, Hollywood Improv, Ice House, Steve Allen Theater, Laughing Skull Comedy Festival, LA Comedy Festival, among others. He co-produces a monthly show, Red Velvet Comedy, and is a writer for the Emmy award-winning animation studio, Klasky Csupo.

We asked him a couple questions:

Laugh Track: How long have you been a stand-up comic?

Alex: 5 years

What other comics will you be watching during the festival?
I’m looking forward to seeing Ed Galvez and Andrew Orvedahl.
If you could give yourself advice when you first started out, what would it be?
“You know that set list you have of jokes you think are good? Don’t do them.”

If your future self ten years from now could give you advice, what would it be?
“You know that set list you have of jokes you think are good? Don’t do them.”
Scientology inspired questions. Feel free to go into detail if you need to. Here we go…
a) Do you lie about yourself? No
b) Do you connect yourself with bad influences? No
c) Should you be punished forever? If I live forever and paid an S&M mistress for a lifetime membership, yes.
d) Have you ever invented perverted sexual practices? Is the L. Ron Hummer patented yet?
e) Is there a past life that you can’t talk about? I could talk about it…it’s just not very exciting talking about my past existence as a snooze button.
To see Alex, get tickets for Saturday Comedians #2 – 10pm, Saturday, August 4 @
